Ali Pasha's Mosque was constructed in Sarajevo during 1560-61 as a vakuf (legacy or perpetual endowment) of Hadim Ali-pasha, the former Ottoman governor of the Budapest administrative district ( budimski begler-beg ) and the Bosnian district ( pašaluk ). Ali Pasha Masjid ini dibangun di Sarajevo selama 1560-1561 sebagai vakuf (warisan atau sumbangan abadi) dari Hadim pasha Ali-, gubernur Ottoman mantan administratif kabupaten Budapest (budimski begler-mohon) dan kabupaten Bosnia (pašaluk). The Ali Pasha Mosque was heavily damaged by Serbian forces during the conflict of the early 1990s, especially the dome. The most recent renovation of the mosque occurred in 2004 and in January 2005, the Commission to Preserve National Monuments issued a decision to add the Ali Pasha Mosque to the list of National Monuments of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
